Dr. Taeed Ahmed Butt after his Fsc from FCC, moved to King Edward Medical College
Lahore. After graduation he joined Mayo Hospital Pediatric Department and got trained
with great professor Shaukat Raza Khan for three years as SHO and registrar. During
which he cleared his DCH and stood first in Punjab University. He left Mayo to work
in Fatima Memorial Hospital for one year as registrar before moving to Saudi Arabia.
He worked as pediatric resident in Alrass General Hospital. He cleared his MRCP
part I Saudi Arabia and later moved to UK for part II which he cleared in during
his first year of job.
He did a fellowship in The Middlesex Hospital with famous
endocrinologist professor Charles Brook. He later worked as registrar in Harold
Wood Hospital, Essex. After inspiration from Prof. Charles Brook, his interest in
endocrine diseases kept on increasing. He moved to Lahore in 1988 to join Professor
Shaukat Raza as assistant professor pediatrics. He started first pediatric endocrine
clinic in Pakistan. He was involved as sub editor in publication of book on clinical
pediatrics. During his stay in King Edward Medical College he had various publications
mostly in endocrinology. He was later offered chair of professor of paediatrics
in Institute of Child Health where he served as head of medical faculty. He was
head general pediatrics and department of pediatric endocrinology till he retired.
During his stay he reorganized endocrine services and diabetic clinics of Children
hospital. He retired in 2012 from government service. He is still actively involved
in teaching and provides endocrine support services in various private and government
hospitals of the city. He regularly holds a consultancy in General pediatric / Endocrinology
in Lahore Health Care.
